JWOC Community Center
The Community Center, completed in April 2009 thanks to sponsorship by the Collette Foundation and William and Lulu O’Connell, is at the heart of what JWOC does. It acts as classrooms for our free classes, a cinema for the local community, a space for developing the capacity and skills of the JWOC scholarship students, a space for children to play and much more. You can read here about all of the things JWOC does at its Community Center as well as how it fits in with the JWOC mission and its hopes for the future.

Community Center Building
The Community Center is a large space that can hold regular classes, extra curricular classes such as traditional dance, seminars, presentations, big screen movies using our video projector, ceremonies for successful graduates of our programmes and team building days. With our movable partition wall we take full advantage of the space and can hold two classes at one time. The space is equipped with whiteboards, desk-chairs for the students, and a stereo system, giving everyone who uses the center the resources needed to teach effectively, study hard or just enjoy the activities they are doing.
Communal sinks
JWOC's custom built communal sinks are a wonderful resource where children and adults attending free classes can learn about and practice important basic health habits such as teeth cleaning and hand washing.

Bathroom block
The Community Center also houses a block of four bathrooms including showers available to members of the community visiting JWOC.

Reed-bed pond
Located in an area outside Siem Reap's main sewage system, JWOC has built a reed-bed pond to process and recycle its waste water, making sure that the Community Center works in harmony with the surrounding environment. The pond was generously sponsored by the Collette Foundation and Mr. Silvano Payne.
