About JWOC
Journeys Within Our Community (JWOC) is a non-profit organization registered in the United States and Cambodia. JWOC runs five projects promoting improved living conditions for people in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. We work to promote economic and educational opportunities while also improving health.
JWOC began when Brandon and Andrea Ross, owners of Journeys Within Tour Company and Journeys Within Bed & Breakfast, moved to Cambodia and wanted to give back to the community in which they lived and worked. By initially receiving donations and support from their guests they were able to start with the first projects, this quickly broadened and the Journeys Within Our Community organization was born.
In the following years JWOC continued to grow, with operations extending from Cambodia to both Laos and Myanmar.
Since its start in 2005 JWOC has thrived because of support and donations from around the world. There are over 70 students in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar going to university thanks to the JWOC Scholarship Program. There are JWOC Free Classes in Cambodia and Laos six days a week, giving education opportunities to those who would otherwise miss out. There are thousands of villagers that now have easy access to clean, safe water thanks to the Clean Water Project. The Mircofinance Project has helped hundreds of people grow their businesses and better support their families.
JWOC was founded under the ideal of See a Problem, Solve a Problem, and with the dedicated support of our donors, staff and volunteers JWOC has done just this and changed lives.
