SoktheaChhin Se is 22 years old and is originally from Kompong Cham Province.  The son of parents who farm rice and fish, he works now at Journeys Within Tour Company in Siem Reap as a morning receptionist.  An eternally busy man, he works 8 hours a day and then attends Build Bright University for another 3 hours, where he studies English Literature.  He has 3 brothers and 2 sisters, with the siblings ranging in age from 15 to 20 years.

As a child growing up in Kompong Cham Province, Se helped with his parents in the fields near their humble home.  He also began school at an early age at the urging and support of his parents.  Se_Well

It is from this humble beginning that springs his desire to “just do [his] best to help with the true situation of the Cambodian people”.  He believes that the largest problems facing Cambodia today are the lack of clean water, the lack of access to quality education, and the slow reconstruction efforts on the part of the government in recovering from years of war and civil strife.  He very much enjoys Siem Reap: of particular interest is tourism.

Se hopes that in the future JWOC will focus more on education, as he feels that it is the single most important factor to a successful future for his country.
