Peace Village Students & More Photos

     









     
Hang Nguyn is two years old and his grandfather was a soldier during the American-Vietnam War. The back on Nguyn’s head is flat from lying on his back since birth. He can not walk, speak, or see. He has been at the village for five months and is currently undergoing treatment to learn how to speak and walk.
Khanh Truong Hai is 7 years old and is from Hanoi. He as been at the village for three years. When he first arrived he was unable to walk. Through massage therapy, mobility exercises and perseverance, he is now able to walk.
   
                   
 
Nguyn Manh Cuong is fifteen years old. After his father returned to northern Vietnam after the war, he became mentally ill and Cuong was sent to the village where he has stayed for the last four years. When Cuong first arrived he had trouble feeding himself, walking, and putting his clothes on. With the treatment he received, he can now talk slowly and walk on his own.
Vo Gchi Cong is fourteen and the right side of his body is paralyzed. Cong could not walk when he first came to the village and now is able to walk and has a great smile. He spends half his day in physical therapy and the other half in the second-grade classroom, where he enjoys participating often in class.
 
   
 
Nguyn Hun Luan is fourteen years old and was born without any signs of problems. At the age of seven he developed physical deformities and came to the Peace Village for treatment. He is one of the best students at the Village.
