As Journeys Within Our Community receives greater international attention and our support base widens, we are able to extend the reach of our projects and broaden our impact throughout local Southeast Asian communities. This means from time to time we have special needs arise which we seek supporters, who are most interested in maintaining our effectiveness, to help us with. The following is a list of things that would greatly strengthen our current capabilities :

- JWOC Community Center: On May 1st, 2008 a contract was signed that provided JWOC with its very own building and property for the first time since the non-profit was founded. The new location will provide office space, volunteer accomodations, village bank office, a language school, meeting spaces and hopefully one day a cafe. However the building and property needs some renovation in order to maximize its potential. We are seeking special donations in order to cover the costs of renovation. Supplies needed include in part: wall paint, A/C units, minor appliances, office furniture, classroom chairs and desks. Approximately $4,000 would cover the cost of all the materials required. Become a part of the establishment of a JWOC Community Center that builds upon our past work and opens new opportunities for the future.
- (20) Digital Cameras: We recently started a digital photography class which teaches students the fundamental techniques of photography as well as how to use the medium to bring attention to social issues. Due to a generous grant from the SHARE Institute we were able to purchase 5 digital cameras for the class. However, the class has over 25 students so in order to maximize the time each student has using a camera, we are seeking an additional 20 digital cameras. This project has incredible potential for not only vocational skill transfer but also as a means of bringing wide ranging awareness to issues faced by children here in Cambodia.
- Computers: Currently JWOC has 12 desktop computers which students use to learn basic computer skills at our Wat Chork language school. We would like to have an additional 20 computers so that we can open up a second computer lab as well as expand slightly our current one. Laptops would be preferred but we would certainly be able to use any computers made available.
